Renting instead of owning, in this city
Toronto is an expensive place to keep a car you do not use every day. Between insurance, a parking permit or a spot in a building, winter tires, and the depreciation nobody budgets for, a second car in the household often costs more per month than renting one for the weeks you actually need it.
That is a large part of who calls us. People who take the TTC or GO to work and need a car for a fortnight. Households downsizing from two cars to one. People whose lease has ended and who do not want to sign another four-year one while they think about it.
Where we deliver in the city
Everywhere inside the city limits. Downtown and the waterfront, midtown and the Yonge corridor, the Danforth and the east end, Etobicoke and along the Queensway, Scarborough out to the Rouge, and all of North York, where our lot is.
If you are downtown, the drive up to us is against traffic in the morning and painful in the evening, so most downtown customers have us bring the car instead. There is no charge for that on monthly rentals and insurance replacements.
Parking, tolls and the 407
Two things that catch visitors out. Green P is the cheapest legitimate parking in most of the core, and street signs in Toronto genuinely mean what they say about rush-hour towing. And the 407 is an electronic toll road with no booths — if you use it in one of our cars, the bill reaches us weeks later and we pass it on at cost. The 401 and the Gardiner are free; the 407 is not, and it is easy to end up on it by accident coming from the airport.
After a collision
Toronto claims are the bulk of our replacement work. If your car is in a shop anywhere in the city we will bring the replacement to you and bill your insurer directly. How that works.
